Agreed. I apologize. I was accused of merely complaining.
I just want a reasonable explanation how the last 2 major updates were both rolled out so late it the week and without any detectable signs of having been tested first. I don't think it is unreasonable for valve to explain why they do not apparently respect us admins. I cannot see why there is any reason this cannot be rolled out on Monday or Tuesday allowing more time for corrections more importantly why valve doesn't respect the community enough to load up sourcemod with a few plugins and alert the community that 90 percent of all community servers will be adversely affected. I don't expect them to support sourcemod but in the case of Pyromania we had to wait for an additional day for gamedata updates. More importantly, in this update they didn't even test it on their own servers. I just think Valve has some accountability to answer for when they don't even test updates for their own servers much less the thousands of community servers. I am not just complaining either. I expect an answer and I suspect I am not alone. There are 300 emails here because of massive failure on valves part not because of bickering. I won't bring it up again until a reasonable amount of time has passed but it is worth pressing since mistakes are being constantly repeated. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Edwards" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, August 18, 2012 6:42:58 AM Subject: Re: [hlds] [hlds_linux] Full servers, but not? Please, if you wish to have these bickering matches do it in private emails between each other. It is not helpful at the best of times. and recently the signal to noise ratio on this list is way out of whack. > Message: 1 > Date: Sat, 18 Aug 2012 03:31:40 -0400 (EDT) > From: Todd Pettit <[email protected]> > To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list > <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [hlds] [hlds_linux] Full servers, but not? > Message-ID: <27899671.667.1345275098785.JavaMail.Pro@Pro-PC> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 > > No, I do not have insider information of valve but I am not an idiot, like > some people. > > The updated affected every single server you imbecile.
