It is MY server if you want to play on it you abide by OUR rules. Otherwise you are more than welcome to join another server and blacklist us. You are hacking your way around plugins taking up the slots of players who obviously are willing to contribute to the community. You already have the ability to blacklist servers and disable the motd. As admin, I already choose whats on your game screen; I choose the map; I choose the plugins. You do not get to decide how I run my server.
I offer a pinion bypass to all my players for $1 a month. It already has close to a hundred people who are contributing. So our players obviously like our servers enough to contribute. Also the game is free stop acting like you shelled out a boatload of cash to play a 4 year old game. You can justify it anyway you want you are just a hack looking for excuses to justify your behavior. Thank you for this, Ryan. Should come in handy. In response to the circlejerk happening over there, it's all good and well for server owners to put in ads, but in the end a server operator is just that -- a server operator. The client is still in control of the client, and I'll be damned if I'll let you choose what I get to see on my game screen, enough that I don't even want a bypass config or a plugin, I'll just not visit your server. It would probably be a wise idea to invest your time and energy into less-annoying and obtrusive advertising methods, as I know I am far from the only one with these opinions. The Pinion may be giving you money right now, but in the end you will be in the red as more and more users get sick of it. Strive to treat your server users like server users, not sacks of money. Be professional and courteous to their needs. This is a game, they are there to have a good time and enjoy themselves, not sit through obnoxious advertisements. -- Will Dueck http://cloudsoarer.com _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds
