sv_pure works fine if you start your server with +sv_pure 1 on the command line. From there you can switch to sv_pure 0 or sv_pure 2 at any time. However if you don't start with +sv_pure 1 on the command line you're stuck with a server running sv_pure 0. So correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this just a simple case of changing the default?
