I used to play this game quite a bit but there was an update a while back that broke my game. Here are some things that seems to be wrong with my game:
- I used to be able to join games on pretty much any map, on a Valve server in the Virginia region. If the game was bad, I could join another of the exact same map. I could play with friends and we'd have fun for an hour or two with maybe one or two server changes. Now I have to queue up on a list of maps and I have no idea which I'll get. If we choose fewer maps, I usually have to wait longer. I spend a small, but annoyingly significant amount of time waiting for games to load. I usually swap out and browse the web, read news articles, etc, waiting for a game to load. It's sort of annoying, when I load the game up the first thing I have to do is wait... - I used to be able to join a different server, almost immediately, if the game I got into was unbalanced. Now I have to wait in this queue again. What's worse is as soon as one team makes a really strong push one or two people will disconnect out of frustration. Then, it seems the system just drops in whoever is in a solo queue to try to salvage the game. These new joiners get frustrated and disconnect as well. I played in a game the other day where it was 11v1. The one player had one star on his badge rank. It took several minutes to get the other team repopulated. The entire lobby was ruined. Imbalances used to be a problem before my game broke, but, now I if I want to leave I have to wait in this damn queue again... - There's this rematch option but nobody seems to actually vote for it. I guess when people lose they don't want to placed on the same team they just lost with. One time people voted for it and the server reloaded the map, made us wait for the setup time again. It was barely any different than when I just joined that damn queue... - I want to play in Virginia, but now if I solo queue it just puts me wherever helps fill a gap. Sometimes this is even overseas. Why? Why can't I just be in Virginia like I could before? If I end up in a bad location I just have to go into that damn queue again... - If a team has a hacker, they don't seem to vote them off anymore. I think everyone is worried about "winning" made up levels and points. It also seems that most players cannot identify a hacker. While this was a problem before, someone could usually join the hacker's team and initiate a vote. It didn't always work, but at least it was an option. Now if I face a hacker I'm at their mercy. Usually I have to leave...but then I end up in that damn queue again... - I used to be able to play this game for an hour or two straight uninterrupted. Now I play for 15-20 minutes and then I have to join that damn queue again...usually I just quit after 1 or 2 because I don't want to wait in that queue. - I used to play on community servers. They were fun for a while. But all the good ones, the ones without modified respawns and modified sounds and modified....everything...those are gone now. In my bugged game it looks like all of these servers are empty. The only populated community servers are like STOP THAT TANK! and Class Wars and Zombie whatever, and Mario Kart, and Achievement_Idle_Awesome_35. There were some communities I used to play on a lot but they're not showing up in my browser at all...so I have to play Casual and join that damn queue again.... Clearly this must be a bug on my local copy of the game. Can someone kindly let me know how I can fix this so I can play the game normally again? Thanks
