If you are familiar with the Quake demo format, you'll notice Half-Life demos are quite similar. It is possible to extract durations of segments without the use of the Half-Life engine, but requires some knowledge about the general structure of the demo. I won't go into the details of the demo file format, as there are plenty of Quake references available. However, here's a simple c++ file that will display the segments and the respective durations. http://www.umr.edu/~msewvd/projects/demo.cpp Regards, Matthew Endsley [EMAIL PROTECTED] <http://www.n0ki.tk>

Subject: [hlds_apps] Informations extraction from .dem files
Hi,
For some reasons, I would like to extract the "duration" of a demo
from a demo file (*.dem) (number of seconds for example).
Is it possible ? Where could I find informations about this ?
Thanks
