My understanding is that the demo only records coordinates and actions.
Therefore, when played back on your box, it will appear how it would have
appeared as if *you* had been playing it regardless of what the original
machine saw. If you install and enable a cheat, you will see the cheat
working even if the original player didn't have the cheat. It's not really a
movie being recorded - the engine renders what you see each time you run the
demo as if it were a live game.
A screenshot, OTOH, is an actual picture of what the client sees.
Unfortunately, it's so easy to edit a screenshot that unless you get them to
send it right away, it's useless.
