I rather enjoy his car analogies... find them.. oh, I don't know soothing :)
Besidesjust because their based on the same core, doesn't make the differences subtle... I have used redhat, debian and gentoo, and the first thing a threw away was redhat, right after I actually laerned linux, great start distro in my opinion... then I moved on to debian, to get a more server friendly distro, still use debian on my server... finally on my workstation, I sue Gentoo... I must say, I'm surprised how good it is... Maybe it's just me, but I have hard time seeing the portage system as a "subtle" difference... what your saying is that wether you run window or linux it's just a subtle change, because it runs on the same architecture(providing you use a windows friendly one)... you can't lay it out like that, just as Eric explained through his car analogy, and if you don't get them, then maybe, just maybe it could be you who simply lack the ability to take transfer analogies to subjects... You can disagree with him, but his analogy still fits.... On Friday 18 October 2002 00:23, Jeremy Brooking wrote: > On Thu, 2002-10-17 at 16:49, Eric (Deacon) wrote: > > > > And it does so very well.
