A couple of days ago I restarted my server due to some changes.

My HLDS process was PID 451.

hours latter - maybe two days - I noticed a FreeBSD only message warning:

Limiting icmp unreach response from 318 to 200 pkg/s

Well, this lasted for about 10 seconds.

coincidentaly or not, after that event I noticed that the PID of my HLDS
had changed to 2710.

Of course it selfrestarted.

Since then it did not happen again, but maybe it is somehow related; Of
course this does not seem to be the same situation, since you mentioned
your map did not change (so that, your server did not restart), but meybe
there is something in common.

Some malformed or too long UDP package, for UDP is the only thing forwarded
to this server by my firewall.

I had some one claim to crash my server. He was threatening it:

Then after everyone egging him on (thanks guys) he did something. Not
sure excatly what it was, but he didn't crash it. He just had the
effect of resetting everybody's connection. Didn't even restart the
map. I immediately got out and ssh'd to my server. I saw this:

NET_QueuePacket: Oversize packet from 12.228.138.12:27005

I banned him and his IP. anyone have any idea's as to what he did?
