Wouldn't it be cooler to increase server FPS to meet the demands?
And that would help a user with a too slow system with wrong settings exactly how?
Well, while I know how much you love to try to show me up somehow, it doesn't make sense to me how you can say that it's worse to run a server at a level such that it can service clients at high rates without breaking a sweat.
In a direct reply to my post about _client_ performance you suddenly jumped in with post about server performance. If it is in fact not _you_ that "try to show me up somehow" and you though I had left out some vital part of the picture, you could have easily made an addition to my post (eg along the lines of "remeber that an underpowerd server might show the same symptoms").
Instead you come with a oneliner reply "correcting" what I wrote stating it's a serverside issue in a way that might make the less experienced HLDS_l admin think what I said is incorrect.
If we presume the original poster is not some newbie that doesn't realize that top constantly showing spikes at 100% CPU usage "is not a good thing"(TM), then the issue (given those serversettings) is very likely not dependent on a overstrained server, but bad client settings/connection. And in that case the serveradmins options basicly comes down to the 2 things I said a) battle player ignorance on a dayly basis. b) prevent the users from "hurting themselfs" by lowering the allowed maxvalues.
Please, don't disagree just because I say it...
That is a really good advice Deacon. Too bad you don't follow it yourself.
