My question is why would should it be limited? Who are these people who are given access to steam linux while other nix admins are not.
Possibly people who have proven themselves as compitent admins running servers that are well populated all the time. And people who are running different distributions od OS's across a veriety of hardware.
Who decides who can beta test the beta linux before its released for BETA testing?
This is a guess, but Valve?
I been running cs servers since beta 5.2..always on linux. Thats a long time. Yet, Im willing to bet half the people who are "private" testing linux beta haven't been running CS servers for half as long.
I think it's possible for a person who has been running s server for months to be more qualified than a person who has been running s server for years. Not to discredit your skills. I don't know you. It's also possible that you're not the only one who has been running a CS server for so long. If 1000 people have done so and they only need 100 people for testing, then a few people will be left out.
Maybe if I knew the right person or kissed the right ass, I wouldn't be asking these questions.
I think it's safe to assume you won't be on that list now.
Since I am asking, I hope someone on the list has some of these answers.
There, someone answered!
