Digital released a binary converter ages ago to take one binary and convert it from Ultrix to OSF. Any one know if there is such an animal that could take a binary and convert/optimize it for newer Linux?
Maybe valve just needs to bite the bullet and update their releng team and build farm. I will gladly sign a non-disclosure form if they will let me do an updated build. It is not often ( and in this crappy economy well nigh unbelieveable) that you get people volunteering to work for almost free. Truth is I would stand to benefit if a more up-to-date build performed better. So, valve, What do you say? -miket ----- Original Message ----- From: "Damian Harouff" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, September 27, 2003 11:39 AM Subject: RE: [hlds_linux] RE: cs_i386.so compilation > How about compiling with an updated version of GCC, so that we don't have to use 5 > year old distributions to compile our mods?
