According to the great words of 0x2e:
Subject says it all.
Yes, it does. And I'm feeling the same way. My only problem is that, after playing TFC almost exclusively for almost four years, I don't know what to replace it with. What else is out there that is similar to TFC? I dabbled in a few "war simulators" and didn't really dig them. I hate CS. Any suggestions for what I should try?

Quake3 CTF. Threewave, Alliance, Team Arena, Standard Q3, Weapons Factory, and Quake3 Fortress. I'm sure there are many more I did not mention. I recently got back into playing TFC. I've started playing many of these mods, all of which I find just as fun. Also, the quantity of maps available for them is amazing. Such variety among gameplay is not something available with TFC. I've got to agree with the fact that Valve is mishandling the situation. The only reason I still use Windows is that I play HL/Steam. If not for that, I'd be using Linux (Slackware!). There are a few other really top-notch Q3 mods you should try: Urban Terror (not one of my favorites, but still really nice), and True Combat (real fun in a LAN) setting. They aren't similar, but they do have CTF modes (dunno about UT). There's also Unreal Fortress, for the original UT. Unreal Fortress 2003 is coming out soon as well. Also, you could go for that retro feel and play Team Fortress. I play that at school, since our PII-300/64M RAM boxes at school won't play anything else. Again, very similar to TFC, yet very different.
There's a lot of fun stuff out there. See what you like, see what you don't. I like everything, gives just a wee hint of variety to gaming.
