you don't know if any of the people playing on your server might have
traffic shaping on their end of the connection, and they seldom have a
big pipe. and they appreciate the flag already being set and not having
to set it themselves with firewall rules.
setting the -tos flag has no disadvantages whatsoever.

Well, what good is a firewall box that supports TOS if the upstream
routers throw away the flag?



If you are shifting a lot of traffic - you can use QOS to ensure your game traffic gets priority over other traffic such as HTTP + FTP - which are not affected by latency.
