Yes, for shell you can run a restricted shell, chroot, etc.
They can all be broken. No elitism from you can change that.
Right, and like I said. They are going to be soo willing to abuse their
account when you have all their info. wget'ing things like maps and mod
stuff should be legitimate. You act like it's going to become a 0-day
warez box. Certainly you at least mrtg each account and set reasonable
quotas for disk space?
Too many companies out there are offering unmanaged servers and shell
access. Non of what you're saying is wrong in theory. It's the
paranoia that should drive you to better secure your systems and to
strategically operate your billing model.
