Wouldnt it be easier if you set the TZ or country code in the client? That
way you will always know where the person is located... and then do a
simple list of servers to choose from.
Pinging once a month is quite a bad hack and a routing problem or if an
ISP get pissed off on another ISP and filter the IP's out, it could make
steam choose a server in asia instead of europe...
