Entering a cdkey in to steam for hl2 and then ripping out your net connection. I don't see how this "method" could be possibly fixed without some sort of rewrite of the authorisation handling code for steam (which I am assuming is no small task). I don't think it was wise to post this to the list as any fix that is in the pipeline could be a while away and it doesn't matter how many people you 'educate' to the unlocking method, it won't get it fixed any quicker. IF you were posting a game exploit or a hack etc then that's understandable but this type of post is just idiotic and I am sure any Valve employee that read your post felt that little bit sicker about their product getting ripped off by even more people.
