Hi,

This mass bann is about piracy not cheater.

I think it will always be some cheaters and you can only try too keep them
as long as you can out of the game but they will always find some new cheat
... And that is sadly like this in everything...
Anyway, even if I am against cheating, you can't block cheaters to play a
game they paid for definitivly... it's theyr choice and admin's choice to
activate or not the cheater's block on his server (even if 99% put it on of
course)...
And sometimes you can see that VAC or PB ban people by error or bad reason
(like admin set ban for a small thing) or simply got your account hack and
used for cheat... So no system is perfect (especialy when it happend to you
and you need to buy another copy of the game for continue to play)...

I think PB is more and more popular and seem to have some efficacity... A
big advantage is that they can get the experience on one game to prevent
same cheat on others games... So perhaps it would be a good thing that Valve
go on it...

So all this for say that mass ban have not put cheater out of Steam but
people using pirated way to get HL2 so a anti-cheat system is still needed
and reclamed by player quickly because it kill the game and Valve must
understand that without any good anti-cheat CSSource will not grow up
because people will stay on 1.6 because it's too much cheaters on CSS (it's
what people tell me with the other bug)... And I think it's why PB is
included into more and more games actualy...

Lestat
