Hm, how can VAC2 ban an account (even by mistake) when "officially" no cheat detecting/logging is taking place.
I'm pretty sure that this is "official" proof that VAC2 beta does more than just testing client-server connection, infact I believe this means that VAC2 beta is logging cheats for real for quite some time and I applaud that. I'm just wondering now how VAC2's security module system works since there is no update indication of it while starting or joining a server. Most probably it's hardcoded into steam and updated quietly which each new steam update as long as VAC2 is still in beta. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Alfred Reynolds Sent: 18 June 2005 20:12 To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [hlds_linux] VAC2 actually detecting & banning? Wow, with all this flaming I have a hard time finding the real questions :) VAC2 should not be enforcing bans at this time, it looks like a gremlin may have escaped his cage, we will look into it. Note that we will start enforcing bans very soon and without warning to this list. - Alfred _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
