ok..I run a 12 person 1.6 server on a dell sc4210 server machine. It's
a p-4 2.54 ghz box with 512 megs ram and a 40 gig hdd. I run hlds 1.6
with AM, MM, and hlg 1.8 with all detections active. I host it on a 768
up dsl connection that has strict QOS with the cs machine getting
highest priority and a minimum amount of 400 kilobits and it can burst
higher if needed.(it has used 500 kilobits in bursts). What kind of
connection are you running?
As far as my command line here is what i have:
sudo -u hlds sh -c "cd /servers/hlds/; screen -A -m -d -S hlds
./hlds_run -game cstrike -debug -pingboost 3 +port 27015 +maxplayers 12
-autoupdate +map cs_assault"
To edit your kernel swappiness you need to add the following to
/etc/sysctl.conf
#swappiness
vm.swappiness=0
save the changes and restart the machine.
Metamod needs to be updated and your amxmodx is extremely old. Check to
make sure you are running the latest warcraft mod as well. Those could
be the cause of some of your issues. The pingboost command will chew up
quite a bit of cpu as well..:)
If you have webmin installed goto system-startup and shutdown
List everything running(there's probably a boatload) and i will give my
suggestions on what to shutoff.
