I would appreciate any help or possible ideas on what is going wrong, at
this point I'm pretty desperate.

I have installed an HLDS server for CS 1.6 on a computer running openSUSE in
my house, behind our router. The server works, and I can connect to it using
the external IP of my router when I have the local IP specificed in the run
line or without specifying anything. One friend who has the same internet as
me, but is not behind our router can also connect using the console. Another
friend with a different ISP cannot connect at all, and neither friend can
join through my friend list, because it appears to be attempting to join the
local, not external IP.

The server does not show up in the browser list, and while I don't
particularly mind that since this server will primarily be used as a private
server, I have a feeling that if this is not the root of the problem, it is
a primary symptom.

I have sv_lan set to 0, that's how it should be even though the server is
behind my router? I have also specified the external IP and port 27015 in
the server.cfg.

All the ports I can find that are needed are forwarded.

As far as I can tell all firewalls are completely disabled on the server.

Thanks for your time, Ray.
