I'm trying to run a few hlds servers on my CentOS 5 dedicated linux box but I've run into a lot of small problems.
First of all sometimes users cant connect to the server, the client keep getting "Steam (server) ticket error". I've also got a simple script that starts a few independent hlds server (with 30s sleep inbetwen), each server has got its own hlds folder, totally different config and port (27015 - 27020) ofc. Anyway, most servers start up fine, although sometimes the VAC icon dosnt show up and when anyone try to connect to the server it crashes. I get the same problem on a similar config but with different IPs instead of ports (use the same ISP, datacenter) Server setup: ./hlds_run -game cstrike -pingboost 3 -autoupdate +map de_dust2 +port 270xx +ip x.x.x.x CentOS 5.2 OS (2.6.18-92.1.10.el5) 1x Opteron Dual-Core 1214 1x 2GB ECC 100mbit connection (@ a DATACENTER in Tokyo) I get a few error messages when my client runs, I'm going to list a few > scandir failed:/home/..../valve/SAVE > reliabletimer.h (73) : Assertion Failed: m_nPerformanceCounterEnd >= m_nPerformanceCounterStart > reliabletimer.h (60) : Assertion Failed: m_nPerformanceCounterEnd >= m_nPerformanceCounterStart > xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:27005:reconnect > Dropped XX from server > Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket(server was > unable to contact the authentication server). Anyway, as I mentioned earlier there is no firewall blocking the ports, although I've consider that it might be my ISP that is throttling the UDP ports casuing me all sorts of weird problems, at least read something about it (yes I've spent many hours googeling this xD). I've also got random server lagg even when running only one server, and major problems as mentioned eariler when running more then one server. I've tried running both hlds_amd, hlds_amd64 and the hlds_i386 binaries but still got the same problems. I'm not running any addons (such as metamod). Thanks in advance for any help you guys possibly could give me ^_^ Best Regards\RedLink\ _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
