So you can compare Ventrilo to Windows, and TeamSpeak to Linux :) Some gamers prefer Ventrilo, and those whom prefer TeamSpeak argues that it is just slightly different / better.

Sound quality is all about the codecs. They are not the same but with best codec TS has, you hardly notice any difference for those that Ventrilo uses. Mostly it is a myth but about TS getting actively developed, thats not exactly true.
