Well actually you can get commercial support for linux.  And I've never
gotten the kind of support from MS as I do from the Ubuntu community.
(Sorry had to throw that in there).

So you can compare Ventrilo to Windows, and TeamSpeak to Linux :)

Some gamers prefer Ventrilo, and those whom prefer TeamSpeak argues that it
is just slightly different / better. 

The main error in this comparement, is that Microsoft is willing to support
its paying customers :s

I was about to say the same thing. Sound quality is all about the 
codecs. They are not the same but with best codec TS has, you hardly 
notice any difference for those that Ventrilo uses. Mostly it is a myth 
but about TS getting actively developed, thats not exactly true. New 
versions are rare but the software is fully working and critical bugs 
get fixed.
