If you were subscribed to the hlds (non linux) list you'd see the disproportionate number of complaints there.
I'm not saying all of the posts are good; just that there are a lot of them. The posts on this list are far more relevant and on-topic. I think it is just a matter of the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Regardless of Windows or Linux, they do need to work on communication a little more. If nothing else, hire 1 person to handle reading/replying to the lists - even part time. You know... actually support the people who run servers.
