Less infinite loops / a "slower" choice. I have had Steam break one, and it basically forkbombed my server due to nemrun constantly checking for the Steam update every second. It's also probably mean to query Valve's master-server so often, when it could easily do it every few minutes at the least and would still remain "updated".
