Looks like he's new there so he hasn't gotten old and grumpy yet but i'm
not talking about him only. The hlds_linux list has become alive, from
their side too.

You're referring to Fletcher as Valve, I think he's just assigned himself
to TF2 programmer and naturally it's his job to help out problems with the
things he's working on :)
Needless to say, it's good that he's helping.
Kind regards,

Thats not true. Fletcher personally mailed to me yesterday about the issue
and we tested many things and found out that early registered people may
have had copypasted the console output and thus the equal sign may have
ended up in configs. I even tested separate server.so that Fletcher gave me
that did some better error reporting and it helped to locate the issue.
There still was an issue where server didn't connect to steam properly and
thats where the error reporting server.so helped. They found something
wrong in backend that would cause server to fail to log in and fixed it. At
that point, gifts started dropping on mine. I guess there might be still
something wrong or just the item server been down and you haven't rebooted
the server since.
The Valve care factor is way higher these days than it was year ago. Not
everyone say this much out loud but they do care and are looking into the
issues we report here.

I'm just sharing my experience. I had four viaduct servers registered in
one go and only three had drops. All usual dances like restarting,
updating, etc changed nothing but creating new id-token pair solved the
problem immediately. Since the only obvious thing I noticed was a quote
in
the old token so I assumed that if = is a rogue character then quote can
be
one as well. Won't hurt trying if nothing else works I guess.
No = or " in mine, no gifts.
I could create another token, but it's not really fixing the problem and
the next thing that requires a registered server may or may not work.
It's a pity so many couldn't configure their servers, because it seems
valve went home happy on Friday night thinking that the problem didn't
exist :(
