I looked in the hobosupport.gemspec file for the part that was
requiring gems 1.2 and found this:
required_rubygems_version: !ruby/object:Gem::Requirement
requirements:
- - "="
- !ruby/object:Gem::Version
version: "1.2"
And I knew that hobo uses echoe to package the gems so I changed to
the echo directory and:
grep -r required_rubygems_version *
Which turned up this incriminating line in lib/echoe.rb:
315: s.required_rubygems_version = rubygems_version if
rubygems_version
So I searched the file for "rubygems_version" and found:
216: self.rubygems_version = "= 1.2"
Which, in the new version, has been changed to:
216: self.rubygems_version = ">= 1.2"
