Yeah, my instinct says to put things wherever it will be easiest to maintain them. Maybe I'm not into the Hobo frame of mind, but the first place I would think to look for dynamic content is under the views folder. With my original "Widget" example (below), I'd be inclined to check the /view/widgets folder ... where I could find "show.dryml".
Now, if "show.dryml" only contains "<show-page />", then I have to start digging through my taglibs... and since I don't know of an easy way to produce searchable documentation for my custom taglibs, it might take me a while to find/remember the appropriate tag. On the other hand, if "show.dryml" contains more than just a single tag... e.g. /view/widgets/show.dryml <show-page title="Widget"> <foo:>Bar</foo:> <my-content:>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amun.</my-content:> </show-page> Then I suspect I'll find it easier to work with. I think that goes along with your suggestion of focusing on the reuse aspect - if it's going to be used more than once, make it a tag; if it's a one-time- only, make it a page. -VegHead On Oct 12, 1:51 am, kevinpfromnm <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I would think use a tag def when you will (or might) reuse it and a > page def when it's a one time thing. > > On Oct 11, 11:01 pm, VegHead <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Any guidelines for deciding when to define a tag and when to just > > write a dryml page? > > > For example, I have customized the look-and-feel of the various show > > pages in my app, but they all follow the same flow with only some > > minor variations.
