I have just started working on my "application meta-model" framework for Hobo. I was also considering that you might be able to "say" something similar using plain YAML!? Except YAML is not as platform agnostic as JSON as I see it... What I generally lack in rails, is a way to have an overview of the application in one place and have changes here reflected in my app while still maintaing control (i.e not destroying my codebase with auto-generated code!) Also, I think Hobo would benefit by supporting more cool plugins such as: searchlogic, taggable, ajaxful rating, recaptcha and sidebar plugins! Would be nice to have sth. like railroad (http:// railroad.rubyforge.org/) on top of such a framework, and using this metadata could be but so much better... So much to do.... --- BTW: The recession (more like depression!) is just about to really hit, with the big 2nd leg down (of 3 down in a 5 step wave structure), probably will hit within the next month or so (Elliott wave theory). Should take DOW below 5000. Not that it will be a much prettier picture here in Europe... :P The financial experts (gurus): Michael Panzner, Bob Hoye, Mish, Robert Prechter : Deflation is about to go hyper... japan style... lost decade... demographics, baby boomers....
