Folks, Just to kick some discussion:
Regarding naming and service discovery, it seems that there are folks that are in the camp of "let's make mDNS work on multiple segments", while others seem to be in the camp of "this should be done with DNS". May I introduce a third option? mDNS for the local net, DNS to glue the multiple segments. That way, there's no additional code needed on the clients, no extensions needed for DNS, and just some software on the boxes linking the different network segments. I could draft something along these lines, if there's interest.
