I appreciate that, but the essence of being helpful is to start out by trying to clearly understand the context. You didn’t do anything wrong—it’s just that we’ve had about a dozen routing experts come through, not spend the time truly understanding the context, and then express confidence that IS-IS, OSPF or some other routing standard that they like solves our problem perfectly. We cannot resolve this problem people don't listen to our reasons for not having consensus to use $random_routing_protocol. So I used your well-intentioned comment as a foil for making that point.
