HI everyone,
After many years of thinking about this and looking for a suitable
place to have it, I am going to have my own horn camp. I would like
any of you who are interested contact me as soon as possible because
the space will be limited to 20 people. I don't have a web page up yet
but I should in a few days. The price is going to be about $800 for
six days of instruction from me, my good friend and colleague Robert
Dickow, from Idaho U and others to be announced. We are going to have
no more than 5 people to each instructor. The dates are July 25-31,
2010.
This workshop is going to revolve around the things that i have
presented n my book and DVDs and my new book, that I hope to have
ready for the workshop, that deals with efficient and purposeful
practice with an emphasis on using the musical qualities of what we
are practicing to increase practice efficiency and musical expression.
I am very interested in having people attend who are interested in my
unique teaching methods and wish to learn more about them from the
source.
This will be a very hands on week of learning, playing and interacting
with other musicians. The location is in McCall Idaho near Ponderosa
State park. There is a nice lake for swimming and boating and many
trails to hike in the park. We will also be performing at the camp and
possibly in the nearby town. Access is from Boise airport. A rental
car will get you from there to the camp in under 2 hours. There are
also buses to take.
This will be appropriate for advanced high school students up to any
higher level. I will be doing serious audition preparation, solo work
coaching, musical expression and phrasing work as well as horn choir
and other chamber types of things. Since the camp is small, i will
able to spend plenty of time with everyone.
Here is a link to the camp itself:

Feel free to email me or call me with any questions. Those of you who
have been to my other seminars, horn days and the Horn Weekend know
that we always have a good time and much information is presented.
This will be even better. This is a labor of love for me.
Sincerely,
Wendell
