I like Debbie's approach:

The reason I like it is that I also had this very same problem a while back.  
But things change and teeth do move, and the problem eventually went away.  For 
that reason, I'd prefer an obviously temporary solution over a costly and 
illusorily permanent one.

 

The wax won't hold and will just get sqeezed between your teeth and gums.  The 
cigarette paper is thin enough that it may not significantly change how your 
lips press against your teet but thick enough to take the edge off the tooth.  
I haven't tried it, but I would before making any permanent changes to my teeth.
