Thanks for all the responses. I'm going to try the (cheaper) paper and
maybe the wax options before I do anything else; anything that can't
be reversed.

@Ralph Hall- ha ha The times I've noticed the discomfort the most
were in rehearsals of a community band I play in- lots of marches-
with the horn on my face for most of the 2 hour rehearsal, which
usually runs over. One of the other times I noticed it especially was
during an extra long concert of all movie music with a local community
orchestra. I got called in to play assistant first- it was a lot of
fun, but really wore me out. The day after I've played for so long, I
can really feel that spot on my lip. I guess it doesn't bother me all
that often, but I'd rather that it didn't bother me at all (ha ha).

@ Steve Haflich- After talking to my dentist, I wanted to get the
thoughts of some other horn players. One of the first things my
dentist asked when I mentioned the difficulty playing my horn was,
"You don't use a reed for that, do you?" He's a great dentist, but not
a horn expert, so I thought I'd find out what people here had to say,
and use that information.

Again, thanks to everyone.
