I don't know if any horn teachers have the option to suggest types of braces for their students but I used Invisalign (www.invisalign.com) a few years ago to straighten my teeth. The value is that they can be easily removed when practicing or since they are smooth and thin they can also stay on when practicing. I think that decision would be based on how much playing was occurring during the day. They now have versions for teens and possibly kids. They probably don't work for all types of adjustment problems but for they kids they can help they would be a much better option.
