surely many players experienced similar things with a vast variety of horns.
Get your horn delaquered properly & relaquered. If you like the horn, it would 
be worth the investment.

How to proceed in the future ? Wash your hands carefully before touching your 
horn. Have a small microfibre towell 
(the very smooth one from your super market !) handy so to whip fingerprints 
away. The laquer will last much longer.

Where do you live ? Near the coast perhaps ? Could cause unexpected things 
regarding laquer.

Keeping the horn & its surface clean is most important
