I just picked up an 11DS about a month ago and I love it. I'm a
college student right now and have played an 8D since 7th grade, but I
like the sound and response of this horn much better. It's a similar
enough feel to the 8D to make me feel at home, but it feels a lot
easier and smoother to play. The valve action is quite slick, but
then again this is also very dependant on the individual horn's
condition.
When you're finding a horn though, keep in mind that it's not so much
the instrument as it is the player--nobody cares what you're playing
on so long as you get a good sound out of it. Regardless of the make
and model, you'll end up sounding like you again.

Hey everyone,
Have any of you tried the Conn 11Ds (geyer model)? What have
you
thought of them? Are they good? Was the valve action smooth and slick?
Are they
considered professional level? Is Conn (Now days) considered a
profesional horn
(the 8Ds, 10Ds, and 11Ds.)?
