The Long Call is in the second Act of Siegfried just about 34 minutes after the beginning.
I have recorded the RING (live) three times total. Two sets (Wolfgang Sawallisch & Gustav Kuhn) are available, no three will be on the market in some time (Zubin Mehta). The no.4 set was a concertante production of excerpts of the RING; but this set is sold out. There are numerous recordings of the RING on the market: Metropolitan Opera New York (Levine), Berlin Philharmonic (von Karajan), Dresden (Janovski), Bayreuth (Kempe, Keilberth, Adam Fischer, Peter Schneider, & many others), Buenos Aires (2 sets Wallberg & Erich Kleiber), Graz (Klobucar), Karlsruhe, Vienna Symphony (Moralt), etc. Gerd Seifert has recorded the whole RING four times also, live & as production. Many samples of the LONG CALL can be heard on my page "sigfrid" & attached pages. ========================================================== -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of rebecca ferris Sent: Wednesday, May 05, 2004 3:31 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Hornlist] seigfried's long call "I'm glad to see that Joe A. is still monitoring this list, given his current busy schedule playing co-principal at the Met Opera, where the Ring is currently raging (I hope everyone on the list was listening to Joe most artistically ace - and then some - the Siegfried longcall on the broadcast a few Saturdays ago)." ok, i know this is a very stupid question, but which part of the ring is the long call in? and has anyone recorded the whole thing ever? thanks. ignorantly, rebecca ____________________________________________________________ Find what you are looking for with the Lycos Yellow Pages http://r.lycos.com/r/yp_emailfooter/http://yellowpages.lycos.com/default .asp?SRC=lycos10 _______________________________________________ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] set your options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/hans.pizka%40t-online.de _______________________________________________ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] set your options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
