I rewrote an old C++ custom tag in Java/CF for our migration to cf 8 here,
and the new code runs 14 times faster than the C++ custom tag did! Reason
enough to have a look at those old C++ custom tags, if you ask me! J

Ha! That's a very good answer. J

I do have one client running CF 5.0, mostly because it uses some CFX tags
written in C++. For some reason, newer versions of CF doesn't run C++ CFX
tags very well, and we've discovered the site was more stable with CF 5.0. I
suppose the CFX tags could be rewritten, but.. <shrug>

Because if you have an app that works, and is stable, and does everything
you want it to do, you leave it alone! J

We currently have an old site built in ColdFusion 4.5. (Yes, we know, it
should have been updated years ago.) The site was hosted by the previous
developer and their server crashed. CF 4.5 will only run on W2K and the
server they were using was hosted and that hosting provider will not reload
a server with an OS no longer supported by MS.

We have a W2K server loaded and available as well as a W2K server with SQL
2000 installed. We have purchased a copy of ColdFusion 4.5 off ebay as well
as the other licensing we will need to restore the site.

We are seeking a developer experienced in CF 4.5 to help get the site
running again on a new configuration. We would expect that all of the work
would be conducted remotely via terminal services with a person available on
our end for any other needs. This is an urgent need as we have been down for
over a week.

After we have settled down again, we are planning to rebuild the site and
thus there will be additional opportunity for future work in the very near
future. We would be willing to do this either on a project or time and
materials basis. If you are interested in working on this project or know of
someone who might be, please reply by e-mail as soon as possible.
