True although sometimes dealing with the migration to a newer version is cheaper than dealing with trying to run older OS's or a product not supported on a newer OS. That was the case for our one remaining public facing CF application here. It was written on version 4 and they owned version 5, just last fall it was finally decided to buy CF8 and put it on there. The chance to the new version ended up requiring zero code changes and ended up reducing the support costs due to removal of the non-compliant fees.
