Just throwing out here that the gent asking for the help here isn't on the list, it seems (or he wouldn't have sent the request via the contact form), so he may not see the conversation here. Just sayin'. :-)
As for the help he seeks, I'll let him know it's something I may be able to help with, but as long as I'm offering the comment above, I wanted to share that here on the list as well, in case anyone else finds themselves in that or any other CF troubleshooting/problem-solving predicament. That's what I do now for my living as an independent consultant. Pardon the seeming "sales pitch", but I don't think people would expect there are folks who focus on this kind of work. There are. And just to show I'm not saying this only to pimp myself, here is a list of several folks offering such services, which I keep as a category on my CF411.com list: CF-oriented Troubleshooting Consultants http://www.cf411.com/#cfconsult /charlie -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Seth Bienek Sent: Friday, February 20, 2009 12:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [houcfug] Telecommute Contract Work Hi All, This just came in from the contact form on the CFUG website. Take Care, Seth -----Original Message----- From: Marc Rossen [mailto:[email protected]] We currently have an old site built in ColdFusion 4.5. (Yes, we know, it should have been updated years ago.) The site was hosted by the previous developer and their server crashed. CF 4.5 will only run on W2K and the server they were using was hosted and that hosting provider will not reload a server with an OS no longer supported by MS. We have a W2K server loaded and available as well as a W2K server with SQL 2000 installed. We have purchased a copy of ColdFusion 4.5 off ebay as well as the other licensing we will need to restore the site. We are seeking a developer experienced in CF 4.5 to help get the site running again on a new configuration. We would expect that all of the work would be conducted remotely via terminal services with a person available on our end for any other needs. This is an urgent need as we have been down for over a week. After we have settled down again, we are planning to rebuild the site and thus there will be additional opportunity for future work in the very near future. We would be willing to do this either on a project or time and materials basis. If you are interested in working on this project or know of someone who might be, please reply by e-mail as soon as possible. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the "Houston ColdFusion Users' Group" discussion list.
