I want to open a socket to communicate with the Creston server. I am going to send it commands and have it return information to me. As well as send it commands to execute on the server.

I think what you are trying to do is open a socket to have the Creston report changes in conditions of units and/or communicate desired actions you'd like the Creston server to apply to a specific unit or units. Is this a correct assessment?
