I can't speak for many comparison tools, I've been using Total Commander for the last 9 years or so, it's probably the handiest software I have. What I like about TC is that you can view the files to see what the differences are in comparing between a local and FTP folder, and you can even edit them in the comparison view. There's a lot of things I like about it but I don't know how it compares to any other tools - I've never needed anything else.
In verifying the download link, I see that it has 37K votes for a 5 start rating (out of 5) on techspot.com - doesn't surprise me at all! http://www.ghisler.com/download.htm -James From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of James Husum Sent: Monday, July 20, 2009 8:21 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [houcfug] File comparison tool Greetings, Anyone got a recommendation for a file comparison tool? Preferably FOSS. I know Charlie Arehart has several listed on his cf411.com site. Any of them have better features than others?
