Yes, congrats to all involved in CFiaW project.

And Billy, here's potentially good news for you about the CFWACK: the book
for CF10 will be just one volume, focused only on what's new and different
in CF10 (though in my chapters I also through in bits and bobs on some
things in 9.0.1, where appropriate and related to new things in 10 I was
writing about, which did not make the 9 book. Can't speak for the other
authors, as I have seen only my own chapters.)

And yes, before someone might comment, the book may seem "late" in coming
(as a book about CF10), but I'm actually hoping it's for the better.
Previous versions of the book, being based on prereleases, often had things
that ended up not being the same for the final release. Also, we were able
to leverage a longer duration of experience working with CF10, as final, and
(for many of us) in production, as well as learning from the experiences of
others, to fold all that in.

I'm not speaking officially for Ben, Ray, or the other few co-authors in
this edition.

And to be clear, no offense taken by me about your comment, Billy. :-) I
know it wasn't directed at me, and you may not even have had me in mind when
you said it. (Some wouldn't even have noticed that I was one of the
contributors in all 3 of the books for 8 and 9.) But to your point, I too
felt that the books were in need of a revamp, as a series. But rather than
revisit the questions of how best to present everything from scratch, we
just went with "what's new in CF10."

Hope folks will enjoy it. I have no details on when it will be coming,
other than to say that it's about wrapped up so now, so should be coming
"real soon now". :-)

Subject: [houcfug] New "Learn ColdFusion In a Week" Online Course from Adobe

www.LearnCFinaWeek.com is a site blessed by Adobe, written by a number of
the top names in the ColdFusion community. It's a great free resource, being
very comprehensive while not wasting time on unneeded basics or features
(I'm looking at you CFWACK!)

While it does start from the beginning, and is a great resource for those
new to CF, senior developer will get a lot out of it as well. For example,
the OO chapter really explains theory well (like many, I came up through CF
before OO/MVC, so I can't say I ever received a proper education in that
area - I just had to hit the ground running and figure it out as I went
along). I'd encourage all to check the site out (you can view content
online, or download a PDF/ebook)
