I'm printing direct from a Windows machine. I print mostly from Acrobat, but
also from Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. The media profile on the printer
was recently updated to the HP Heavyweight Coated best quality. Under the
Advanced button I choose the printer color profile of HP 5500 UV HW Coated,
best (I just downloaded that from the HPs website last week). Then under the
Properties button I go to the Device Options tab -> Color Management -> Printer
Color Management -> Rendering Intent = Perceptual, CMYK = SWOP, RGB = Adobe
RGB.
I know that the inks are quite different and these plotters are entirely
different animals, but there has to be SOME happy middle ground. Most of the
feedback I've received has been that it prints too saturated and too blue. I
can tweak the colors a bit in the Device Options -> Color Management ->Printer
Color management area, but that's a bit too vague a way for me to do that. It's
not precise enough. Any help is appreciated!
