Hi Amy, What is the rendering intent you are using when printing? Which application and what are the color settings you use in the driver or RIP? A bluish cast could point to using absolute colorimetric instead of relative or perceptual, depending on what you are printing.
Comparing the 800 and 5500 UV is kind of comparing oranges with apples, if I may use that term. If you are using the windows driver in both cases, the 800 is an rgb driver, whereas the 5500 is a cmyk one. Regarding the input of the drivers. Secondly, the different ink types could maybe be a reason the colors are different. I've downloaded all the proper media and ICC profiles and yet image colors (not swatches with pre-defined CMYK values) are printing out with a funky bluish cast. As our lighting is funky and all monitors are different, I go by the numbers. My other 3 plotters are DesignJet 800s and all have similar predictable output-that looks like what I'd expect. I want to zero my UV plotter in to be more in line with the 800s. Any suggestions? swagman002 <[EMAIL PROTECTED] com.au> wrote: Hello, I have just tried my first test print using Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 188 that has resulted in a print where the colours are way over saturated. The approach that I took was to:- 1. Download HP's supplied profile for this paper 2. Calibrate the DJ130 to this paper, using "Heavy Weight Coated" at "Best" 3. Set the print preference to use the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 188 ICC 4. Printer setup to use "Heavy Weight Coated Paper" at "Best", with color management set to "Application Managed Color" Softproofing shows the image to be acceptable, but when printed the image colour is over saturated. Maybe the ink load is too heavy?? Any assistance/advice would be most gratefull. Thanks Lou Check out the all-new Yahoo!
