Rob: I have a 130nr. I purchased the 130 for specific reasons over a year and a half ago and I am still quite pleased with my decision. I wasn't sure about the nr part though although I eventually bought that model. There were a few web pages dealing with home fabrication of a roll feeder and a cutter but truthfully I couldn't see me successfully completing the project and so spent the extra money.
The network ready portion of the nr is important (I think) if you have several computers feeding to the one printer...although I could be wrong. Other than that it's just the feeder- cutter. my suggestion...if you will use roll paper consider the nr model. I'm not sure what the difference in price is now, less I think. As far as print quality...OUTSTANDING! Ease of use also outstanding and it's quite inexpensive to operate...dye inks are less $$$ and they print quite beautifully on all papers including glossy paper!! They produce red reds, green greens, blue blues etc etc etc and most importantly of all...black blacks. Something I've yet to see on a pigment print. They can also be left unused for several several months and then print perfectly the first time and every time. Unlike pigment, dye is not waterproof so if you are planning to display your work in a swimming pool, or in a glass of water this won't work, otherwise it's fine. Print life in excess of 85 years seems quite acceptable to me as well. Good luck with your decision and don't drink the kool-aid.
