I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that it worked! I have been in the shooting/printing business for almost 30 years and the decline in customer service has been dramatic. My original experiences with HP were really good, but lately they've been less than helpful.
I was convinced my 130 was dead. My call to HP only added to my depression. I walked away from it for most of day and then went back with a better outlook. Strangely, I had experienced a lot of media loading problems with the roll feeder before this incident, but since then it's loaded very well. Only once in a great while do I have to make more than one attempt at loading. I alternate between the canvas and the Photo Satin frequently and every time I go to make the change my heart is in my throat! Another thing I've noticed is that getting the media to load is apparently not dependent on a straight cut of the paper from side to side, but rather how evenly you get it fed into the machine when it's ready to accept the media. I have been cutting the canvas by hand using scissors or a hobby knife and the edge that's left behind is anything but straight. But as long as I get it started really straight it goes ahead and loads just fine. One of these days I'm going to make a cut that's really uneven and see if it loads. I think the idea of the perfectly straight edge comes from the fact that if you don't get the paper started right it won't load, not because the edge isn't straight, but rather because one edge being short then the other lets the printer take the media in crooked. I have found it best to concentrate on the center of the paper and not the edges. I am very happy with this printer. Wish I could say the same about HP and their support. I'll be interested in hearing how it works now that it's loading again.
