I have had a love/hate affair with my DJ130. It produces color that jumps
off the wall and my gallery customers love it. I've tolerated the problems
with paper loading and for the most part I've learned the 'tricks' to load cut
sheets properly.
The deal killer has been recent HP support, or lack of. Although their
intentions are good they just seem to have what can only be described as chaos
going on internally within their company. The right hand doesn't know what the
left is up to...or promising.
I ordered a Canon IPF 8000 today. My prior experience with Canon, both
cameras and printers, has been exemplary in terms of customer support. With the
$1500.00 trade up allowance and the $500.00 instant rebate, my cost was about
$3700.00 for a 44" machine delivered to my door with a 100 foot roll of matte
paper. After doing the analysis, I've concluded the 330 ml tanks will be more
cost effective than even the miserly DJ130. And I'm confident I'll at last
have a machine that will do proper B&W.
I will place my DJ130 with a complete set of spare inks and print heads on
eBay.
