Hi Teddy, Thanks for the response! >the 2500CP. That was a good printer.
I agree, Printing with the 2500CP has been a good experience. >Regarding RIP solutions, well, try PosterJet. They have a solution for the Z >series designjets. I use the RIP myself and it's really good. Simple, yet powerful. Can you elaborate on this. Right now I'm leaning towards the Z with the built in RIP which would be very much like my 2500CP. If you can sell me on PosterJet, please do. I have so much to do and dread having to do software updates unless they are E-Z and fool-proof. In my experience third party solutions are great but require a bit more work which you might be able to forego with a hardware solution. Of course the third parties usually push the envelope (I like that but it's cost me in time in the past and I feel like I have less and less the older I get). It might be the ticket. We are digital fine art creators, on the Macintosh, and plan to be printing photograhs, illustrations and fine art prints. > The printer comes qith 12 inks and not 8 and you have to buy the rest. I went to this site... http://www.dtgweb.com/shop/product.php?productid=26867&cat=762&f=item for HP Designjet Z3100 44" 12 Color Photo Printer (Q6659A) - Free Ground Shipping and clicked on the tab "Item Includes" which reads as follows... What's in the box? HP Designjet Z3100 24" Photo Printer <<<<<<<<<just noticed their "24" mistake here! * spindle, printheads (6 x 2 colors) * ink cartridges (8 x 130 ml) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<8 not 12??????? * media high gloss photo sample roll (44 in x 15 ft) * stand (44 in), rear tray (44 in) * adapter kit (3 in) for spindle * quick reference guide * Setup Poster * USB cable * power cord It must be an error on their part. I've gotten a few more responses and am answering everybody. Thanks much.
